Toys!

Nursery have been very busy following the New Year and Christmas break.
We are currently looking at the topic of toys, we have already been talking about what toys are good for babies and what toys are good for us to play with. We are going to be looking at lots of other toys and seeing if we can sort them in other ways, old and new, magnetic, toys that work in different ways to name just a few.
Of course, there is the Toy Shop in the role play area which has already been a huge success. We have been looking at price tags and practising counting 1p coins to pay for the toys and books. We have some very polite shoppers and some very helpful staff in the shop!
Also, stand by for some lovely artwork! All the children have had the chance to bring in and share their favourite toy from home…we have been very busy painting some fantastic pictures of these toys!!!

Take a look at the slide shows in Miss Davies’ class page. We would love to hear from you, please feel free to leave any comments.

Wecome to Nursery!

Welcome to our Nursery blog! A place to come and take a look at all the exciting things we have been doing… very useful when you hear, “I’ve done nothing today!”

The Nothing Poem

When children come home at the end of the day,

The question they’re asked as they scurry to play

Is, “Tell me, what did you do today?”

And the answer they give makes you sigh with dismay

“Nothing, I did nothing today!”

Perhaps nothing means that I read a book,

Or with a teacher I got to cook.

Maybe I painted a picture of blue,

Or heard a story about a mouse that flew.

Maybe today was the very first time

That my scissors followed a very straight line.

Maybe I led a song from beginning to end,

Or played with a special brand new friend.

When you’re three and four and your heart has wings,

NOTHING can mean so many things!
